Palin's Perspicacious Pearls of Pious Perceptiveness

February 18, 2010

Every time Sarah Palin speaks, I have to wonder about the sanity or at least the intelligence level of the people who seem to think this woman has what it takes to be President of the United States. It's not like I have to really do much of anything to prove such a notion to be complete lunacy, as all one has to do is actually listen to the claptrap of senseless word salad that gushes out of her mouth every time she opens it.

Nearly a year and a half ago, Palin was interviewed by Charles Gibson and nothing I can say illustrates Palin's total lack of presidential credibility and her complete ignorance of U.S. policy better than what she says herself. Please for you to enjoy - vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin during that September 2008 interview:

Gibson "What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?"

Palin: "They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."

Gibson: "What insight does that give you into what they're doing in Georgia?"

[Keep in mind that Russia had invaded former Soviet Republic of Georgia just a month before this interview. That's Georgia - thousands of miles on the other side of Asia from "an island" in Alaska.]

Palin: "Well, I'm giving you that perspective of how small our world is and how important it is that we work with our allies to keep good relation with all of these countries, especially Russia. We will not repeat a Cold War. We must have good relationship with our allies, pressuring, also, helping us to remind Russia that it's in their benefit, also, a mutually beneficial relationship for us all to be getting along."

Gibson: "Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?"

[If you watch this interview you can see this question immediately blew her mind. Her voice and her body language speaks volumes. She didn't have a clue.]

Palin: "In what respect, Charlie?"

Gibson: "The Bush -- well, what do you -- what do you interpret it to be?"

Palin: "His world view."

Gibson: "No, the Bush doctrine, enunciated September 2002, before the Iraq war."

Palin: "I believe that what President Bush has attempted to do is rid this world of Islamic extremism, terrorists who are hell bent on destroying our nation. There have been blunders along the way, though. There have been mistakes made. And with new leadership, and that's the beauty of American elections, of course, and democracy, is with new leadership comes opportunity to do things better."

[Check here for a quick primer on the Bush Doctrine.]

Forget the fact she didn't answer any of the questions put to her but just try to make any sense of the complete nonsense she offered as answers. Where, in that mumbo-jumbo of ignorant drivel, does anyone see anything remotely resembling presidential acumen?

Maybe a year and a half of coaching and some studying up on U.S. Policy might have polished her up a bit, so let's fast-forward to the Tea Party convention, held the weekend of February 6th of this year.

Palin takes questions from convention organizer Judson Phillips. (You can view video clips of this exchange at Smack on the Web on YouTube, Sarah Palin Tea Party Q&A Pts. I & II). One would think that after being exposed over a year ago as comletely ignorant on any aspect of U.S. policies, Palin would have been brought up to speed. If you thought that - you thought wrong.

Judson Phillips: "It goes without saying the end-game for the Tea Party movement for 2010 is a conservative House and a conservative Senate... When we are successful and we have a conservative House and a conservative Senate. As soon as that happens, what do you think are the top three things that have got to be done?"

Sarah Palin: "We've got to rein in the spending, obviously, and not, uh, you know, raise it extremely high, um, budgets and then say, 'OK, we are going to freeze a couple programs here.' That doesn't do us any good really. We've got to start reining in the spending."

[At this point she looks into her hand to read her notes reminding herself of her core conservative beliefs.]

"We have got to, uh, jump-start these energy projects, ah, that again we've heard so much about because it's ridiculous that we have just sitting warehoused under God's green earth here in the United States of America rich resources oil and gas and our coal and and all these conventional sources of resources, we have got to, um, actually walk that walk to allow them to, um, come to development."

Judson Phillips: "We hear about the Obama plan. What's the Palin plan?"

Sarah Palin: "And when it comes to national security, as I ratchet down the message on national security, it's easy to just kind of sum it up by repeating Ronald Reagan when he talked about the Cold War. And we can apply this now to our war on terrorism, you know. Bottom line, we win, they lose. We do all that we can to win."

The idea of this brainless bimbo as President of the United States is ludicrous and anyone who would actually believe she is presidential material is just as ignorant and out of touch with reality as is this woman they worship.

Senator Ben Nelson
(D - Nebraska)

Jan. 15, 2010

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) has named Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) its January Porker of the Month. Sen. Nelson furnished the pivotal 60th vote for cloture on December 19, 2009, allowing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) healthcare bill (H.R. 3200) to come to the Senate floor for final passage. Nelson held out until he was able to parlay his vote to secure, among other perks, a permanent exemption for Nebraska to the Medicaid expansion in the Reid bill, saving the state between $59 million and $281 million. The deal has been dubbed the “Cornhusker Kickback.” The federal government will cover most of the states’ additional Medicaid expenses until 2017. According to The Heritage Foundation, the cost of benefits and administration for the expanded program will cost the states between $32.2 billion and $60 billion through 2019.

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank, (D-Mass.) was named 2009 Porker of the Year. CAGW lists Alaska as the nation's most pork-laden state in it's 2009 report The Pig Book, receiving a total of $221,222,875 in federal largess for a population of only 686,293 people. This works out to $322.34 in pork per person, probably more than the average American spends in a year on actual pork at the supermarket.

In fiscal year 2009, Congress stuffed 10,160 projects into the 12 appropriations bills worth $19.6 billion. The projects represent a 12.5 percent decrease from the 11,610 projects in fiscal year 2008. The $19.6 billion is a 14 percent increase over the fiscal year 2008 total of $17.2 billion, belying claims of reduced spending. Total pork identified by CAGW since 1991 adds up to $290 billion.

The annual survey by CAGW claims that 11,610 special-interest projects were stuffed into spending bills approved by the Democratic-led Congress last year at a $17.2 billion cost to taxpayers. But according to the survey, it was individual Republicans who pushed the most "pork" last year. In addition, the three House of Representative Republicans who sponsored legislation calling for a moratorium on such spending all engaged in the practice, the report said. They are Jack Kingston (R) of Georgia, Zach Wamp (R) of Tennessee and Frank Wolf (R) of Virginia.

Vote for you favorite teabagger excuse:

a) Well, somebody else did it before she did.

b) It's a conspiracy! The photos are fake!

c) It's a non-issue. However, cherry-picking photos to make it appear as if the President is using teleprompters to address sixth-graders - now that's a REAL issue!

d) These pictures CLEARLY prove the Democrats are afraid of her.

e) Isn't she sweet? How homesy of her. She's one of us you bet'cha!

UPDATE: Right after watching Stephen Colbert call Saint Palin a f*&%ing retard, I switched over to Fox News to see what Hannity's panties were in a bind over this night. Sure enough, Hannity was falling all over himself trying to explain how writting crib notes on the palm of your hand is nothing like reading from a teleprompter. Even better was the discussion between Hannity and a couple of commentators actually discussing how intelligence was not a necessary prerequisite for the President of the United States. Laying the groundwork for Saint Palin to run in 2012 maybe? Hahahaha! I love these guys.

Palin's Taxes: Cabins On Sarah Palin's Land Have Never Been Assessed

February 6, 2010

ANCHORAGE: Records show that Sarah Palin hasn't paid any property taxes on cabins that have been built on two backcountry plots partially owned by the former Alaska governor. There are no tax assessments for the two-story, house-sized cabins, a workshop and a sauna spotted Thursday in an aerial survey. Property taxes totaling $156.13 were paid on the land in 2009 but that bill did not include anything for the structures because the local assessor didn't know about the new construction nearly 100 miles north of Anchorage. more

SMACKDOWN: I wonder how soon it will be before we start seeing the spin and excuses roll out of Teabag Central on this. I doubt we'll see all the indignant outrage leveled at Palin that we have seen towards other tax-cheats like Congressmen Fortney Stark, Charlie Rangel and Roy Blunt. The first excuse will probably be their favorite stand-by, which is to point out how others have done the very same thing and how that alone is supposed to make it somehow different and justifiable. If that don't work, the next excuse will be how terrible anyone is to dare accuse Palin of any wrong-doing. That's just attacking her in order to damage her character or credibility. Last but certainly not least will be the fear factor. Anyone who would accuse Saint Palin of anything is obviously afraid of her. Regardless of the excuse, what we will not get is a truthful or straightforward answer from Palin - you can just about bank on that.

This is what they would like you to believe

President Barack Obama and his Education Secretary Arne Duncan appeared at the Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va., Tuesday on Jan. 19, 2010 and opted to use teleprompters to speak to the 11 year old kids.Obama and his staff brought along two teleprompters into the classroom along with the podium with the Presidential seal to chat with 30 sixth graders.

They've even got a video to "corroborate" the story

Check out the room full of reporters at the very beginning of the video. Not a sixth-grader in sight.

This is the truth

Obama wasn’t actually giving a speech to 6th graders at the time, as incorrectly stated in the headline on the photo that made the email circuit and in many 'conservative' blogs. The picture (taken by Associated Press photographer Alex Brandon) actually shows Obama speaking to reporters in a classroom at the Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va., on Jan. 19. Obama had spoken to the students themselves earlier, and he did not use a teleprompter then. This photo from the official White House blog shows that clearly.

Something else to consider... President Obama's detractors use the teleprompters as one of their many means to justify their ridicule the President as a bumbling fool, incapable of running the country yet, on the other hand they have him secretly but cleverly enslaving the country under his Socialist rule. Bit odd don't you think?

Most every Tea Party website you visit will have some form of this 'report' on their site, often accompanied by the typical Tea Party litanies of ridicule directed towards the President. I was under the impression the Tea Party was all about putting an end to these sorts of mindless, corrosive and purposely deceptive partisan propoganda practices. I thought the Tea Party was all about recognizing how things like this can be just as damaging to our country as any kind of bad legislation can be. I had hoped the Tea Party would deliver our demand for truthful and honest dialoge from and between all sides. I thought the Tea Party would rise above the playground mentality that drives the tit-for-tat justification for participating in political tactics such as this. Obviously, I thought wrong...

Blackburn Bails On Tea Party Convention

After consulting with the Committee on Standards, Congressman Blackburn has decided not to participate in the Tea Party Nation Convention next week. More information here...

SMACKDOWN: This was nothing more than an opportunist hedging her bets. She could either use an unfavorable finding from the committee as an excuse to bail - all the while protesting how mislead she was or, had they found nothing, she thought that would have given the convention and her participation in it some kind of credibility. Fact is Blackburn saw the writing on the wall (and all over the internet) weeks ago when the convention and it's organizers were exposed as personal and politically motivated commercial enterprises. Once that cat was out of the bag she immediately began looking for a politically advantageous way to distance herself from both. In this case, the committee gave her the easy out she was looking for. Bachmann and Palin aren't far behind her I'd bet.

Tea Party:
GOP Lackey & Corporate Prostitute

(Part II - Tea Party Express)

February 2, 2010

For nearly a year the Tea Party has attempted to fend off accusations of being comprised of astroturf organizations or allowing outside political and commercial interests inside their organizations. Not all those accusations came from outside the Tea Party. Some of the most vocal criticisms are made by groups within the Tea Party itself. The first part of this series examined the affiliations and partnerships of the Tea Party Patriots and found quite easily that, at the top levels, the Tea Party Patriots is an astrotuf organization and is rife with GOP and corporate influence.

Now, let's turn our attention to the Tea Party Express and see if their claim to be a pure grassroots organization is a legitimate pronouncement. How deep down the rabbit hole will we have to go? You can use this disbursement sheet the Tea Party Express filed with the Federal Election Commission to help you keep track.

Heavily promoted by Fox News and backed by the federally registered PAC, Our Country Deserves Better, the Tea Party Express is probably the most well-known of the national-level tea party organizations. Last year, the Tea Party Express was the subject of a legal action taken by the Tea Party Patriots against one of their own founders for her involvement with the Tea Party Express and it's cross-country bus tour. Initially a part of that tour, the Tea Party Patriots pulled out and accused the Tea Party Express of being an astroturf organization, influenced by outside political and commercial interests.

Considering the levels of GOP influence documented in the first part of this series, the Tea Party Patriots would have been better served keeping that accusation to themselves.

The Tea Party Express is supported by FreedomWorks, Americans For Prosperity and Rupert Murdoch's Fox News. The Tea Party Patriots also enjoy support from these organizations as well. The National Tax Limitation Committee, American Conservative Union, Grassfire.Org and Club For Growth are also listed partners of the Tea Party Express. TeaPartyExpress.Org is the official website of the Tea Party Express and was registered on April 20, 2009 to Steve Katen of Our Country Deserves Better PAC.

The "Tea Party Express" cross-country bus tour was set up by Our Country Deserves Better and was followed by "Tea Party Express II: Countdown to Judgement Day" and a third tour is currently in the works. Our Country Deserves Better was formed in 2008 to oppose Barack Obama's presidential bid and it's directors include; Howard Kaloogian, co-founder of the Move America Forward PAC, Sal Russo, chief strategist for both Move America Forward and the Russo Marsh & Rogers PAC, Joe Wierzbicki, grassroots coordinator for Move America Forward and 'Marine mom' Deborah Johns, who is Move America Forward's director of military relations and the PAC's spokesperson.

Move America Forward is a pro-war lobby formed in 2004, headed by California Republican activists and is staffed by members of the pro-Republican public relations firm Russo Marsh & Rogers (aka King Media Group). MOVEAMERICAFORWARD.ORG and MOVEAMERICAFORWARD.COM were registered to Melanie Morgan on Nov. 18, 2003. Morgan once hosted a conservative talk radio show in San Francisco and works for Russo Marsh & Rogers. Morgan gained brief national notoriety in 2006 when she suggested an editor of the New York Times be killed in a gas chamber for the crime of treason after the Times reported on the U.S. government spying on Americans.

Americans for Prosperity (AFP), a section 501(c)(4) organization, and Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFP Foundation), a section 501(c)(3) organization were the lead organizers of the Tax Day Tea Party protests of April 15, 2009. Americans for Prosperity's connections to the Republican Party, Heartland Institute's International Conference on Climate Change, the Internet Freedom Coalition and Townhall.com was documented in the previous work "Tea Party: GOP Lackey & Corporate Prostitute (Part I - Tea Party Patriots)". Americans for Prosperity is the third-largest recipient of funding from the Koch Family Foundations and is an active lobbying group for the tobacco industry.

The National Tax Limitation Committee (NTLC) was formed in 1975 by Lewis K. Uhler. Uhler worked in then-Governor Ronald Reagan's Office of Economic Opportunity. The NTLC was once praised by R.J. Reynolds as a group whose ideology would lend itself to supporting "smokers' rights". NTLC also once wrote a letter to Philip Morris stating they would "go on the offensive...to force the big-government boys to defend against our initiatives," and "fight on our 'killing ground'." .

The American Conservative Union (ACU) is the self-proclaimed oldest conservative lobbying organization in the country. ACU's chairman is David A. Keene who also chairs the Conservative Political Action Conference and is a managing associate at the Carmen Group, a Washington, DC-based lobbying firm. Keene has considerable political experience as he has been involved in presidential politics since 1968 and worked in the White House during the Nixon administration as political assistant to Vice President Agnew. Keene also worked Capitol Hill as executive assistant to Senator James Buckley. Keene has also worked for Ronald Reagan as a southern regional coordinator in 1976 and in 1980 worked for President H.W. Bush as National Political Director. He was also senior political consultant to then presidential candidate Robert Dole.

The Grassfire.org Alliance, formed in 2000 by Steve Elliott, is "an online conservative issues advocacy organization." Public relations for Grassfire.Org is handled by Shirley & Banister Public Affairs of the infamous Willie Horton anti-Dukakis ad campaign. Craig Shirley, president of Shirley & Banister Public Affairs also once partnered with David Keene to run the PR firm Keene, Shirely & Associates. The Club For Growth has it's own federally registered PAC and is currently supporting a number of GOP candidates in the upcoming elections.

Sal Russo is Our Country Deserves Better's chief strategist and is the founder of Russo, Marsh & Rogers. Russo, Marsh & Rogers also does business as King Media Group. Both are GOP affiliated public relations firms. In 1966 Russo volunteered for Ronald Reagan's California gubernatorial campaign and was appointed as a "special assistant" to elected Governor Reagan. In 1976 he started the political consulting firm California Capitol Consultants. Russo has also been instrumental in such campaigns as; California Governor George Deukmejian, Senator Alfonse D'Amato and Governor George Pataki as well as presidential bids by Jack Kemp and Senator Orrin Hatch. Russo's PR firm even handled disgraced Congressman Mark Foley.

As advertised, individually and together, the Tea Party Patriots and the Tea Party Express are eager and accomodating hosts to the following Republican-affiliated PACs, corporations, political activist groups and public relations firms:

FreedomWorks, Citizens for a Sound Economy, Empower America, Koch Industries, The Cohen Group, Americans for Prosperity, the leveraged buyout firm Forstmann Little & Co, American Liberty Alliance, American Solutions for a Winning Future, Rupert Murdoch, Our Country Deserves Better, The National Tax Limitation Committee, American Conservative Union, Grassfire.Org, Peabody Energy, Club For Growth, and Move America Forward.

Some of the people that head these groups are long-time and well-established Republican representatives:

Dick Armey, Sal Russo, William Bennett, Lewis Uhler, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Howard Kaloogian, William Cohen, Craig Shirley, David Koch, Art Pope, Eric Odom, Newt Gingrich, Rupert Murdoch, David Keene.

Any claim as a grassroots organization made by the Tea Party Express and Tea Party Patriots can be easily refuted and can finally be put to rest. I realize it's hard to keep track of it all but it's all out there for anyone to find. None of this has been invented and everything can be verified through the sources I have provided links to. Still, don't take just my word for it. Cross-check the references, there are litterally thousands of websites devoted to nothing but this sort of information. Don't allow other people to tell you how things are, find out for yourself. Then you will never find yourself in the indefensible position of trying to validate someone else's invalid argument.

Tea Party:
GOP Lacky & Corporate Prostitute

(Part I - Tea Party Patriots)

January 27, 2010

Contrary to what some would have you believe, the half-dozen or so individuals out there claiming to be the founders of the Tea Party movement are, in fact, not. That the Tea Party is a grassroots movement that began on February 19, 2009 on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade, after CNBC reporter Rick Santelli suggested a tea party to protest incompetent government on national TV, is also simply not true. While these untruths are really not that important, the fact that the 2009 Tea Party campaign began with these lies is important. It is important because they were just the first in what would become a summer of coordinated deceit, a near year-long orchestrated fraud and keystones to the foundation of duplicity on which the Tea Party campaign operates.

Fifteen months before Santelli's televised tirade, supporters of then-presidential candidate Ron Paul staged a fundraising event on November 5, 2007 coinciding with Guy Fawkes Day, which commemorates a 1605 British mercenary who tried to assasinate King James I. A month later, on December 16, 2007 Paul supporters held a fundraising march and internet "money-bomb" timed to coincide with the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. This event was called the "Boston TeaParty07". Paul supporters picked anniversaries of such historical events to promote what they called the "Ron Paul Revolution." This event shattered the single-day fundraising record by raking in more than $5 million dollars. All told, those two events raised nearly $10 million dollars for Paul's presidential bid.

Fast-forward to February 2009 and CNBC reporter Rick Santelli's alledged impromptu meltdown. If you have not seen this performance, it has been immortalized on YouTube for your viewing pleasure. I can't help but wonder how Santelli's outburst can be considered a spontaneous "call to action" when he says; "We're thinkin' of havin' a Chicago tea party in July...". There is much to be considered in that statement but obviously, any notion of spontaneity can be immediately dismissed. It cannot be spontaneous if any thought was put in to it beforehand. That aside, the most noteworthy tidbits in his statement is that there were others involved and it would be held in Chicago. This is where it really starts getting interesting.

Of the literally thousands of tea party groups that immediately began springing up across the country after Santelli's rant, a dozen or so of them very loosely made up what could be considered the Tea Party network. Of that number, two would emerge as the primary organizations behind that network; Tea Party Patriots (TPP) and Tea Party Express (TPE). Tea Party Nation Corporation (TPNC) would rise later on to make a claim to a seat at that party. Currently, there are thousands of Tea Party groups and organizations across the country but for the most part their organizers all associate them with one of the three named herein. How these particular groups were able to place themselves at the head of the table is the story of the Tea Party as we know it today.

Before anything can be said about TPP, TPE or TPNC, you have to look at where their finacial support comes from. (You don't seriously think they passed around a three-cornered hat and took up collections for all those buses and cross-country tours do you?) First up to bat is FreedomWorks. FreedomWorks was a financial supporter of both the Tea Party Patriots and the Tea Party Express during their 2009 summer campaign tours. Based in Washington D.C., FreedomWorks is a federal PAC and is registered as a lobbyist group in various states across the country. It is the product of a merger between Citizens for a Sound Economy and Empower America and is headed by former Republican Majority Leader Dick Armey.

Citizens for a Sound Economy was founded and is supported by Koch Industries, the largest privately owned company in the United States and the single largest oil company contributor to both Republican and Democratic candidates for Congress. Empower America's board of directors include such political heavyweights as: William Bennett, former Secretary of Education under Ronald Reagan, Jeane Kirkpatrick, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and William Cohen, former Secretary of Defense under President Clinton and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the The Cohen Group, a Washington D.C. lobbying firm. Empower America's founding chairman and senior funding partner is Ted Forstmann of the leveraged buyout firm, Forstmann Little & Co.

Next up is Americans for Prosperity. Americans for Prosperity is another Koch-family supported PAC that is partnered with and supports the Tea Party Patriots. Americans for Prosperity also financed the "Save My Ballot" tour in June of 2009 which featured Joe the Plumber on tour around the country to lobby against the Employee Free Choice Act. Americans for Prosperity was also behind the "Patients First" campaign and their "Hands Off My Healthcare" bus tours. The director of Americans for Prosperity is Art Pope. Pope has donated so much money to the North Carolina Republican Party that it named its headquarters after him. Among Americans for Prosperity's leading partners are; Heartland Institute's International Conference on Climate Change, the Internet Freedom Coalition and Townhall.com.

Our next contestant is the American Liberty Alliance (ALA). ALA is the product of TaxDayTeaParty.com and is partnered with FreedomWorks, Tea Party Patriots and the National Tea Party Coalition. Enter Eric Odom, executive director of ALA. Odom is an online politics consultant from Chicago and one of the founders of DontGo, a political lobbying group started in 2008. Odom registered TaxDayTeaParty.com on February 28, 2009 and on March 23, 2009, registered AmericanLibertyAllicance.com. At last count, Odom owned 85 registered domains and was named as contact for 53 others.

Odom is also the owner of officialchicagoteaparty.com, registered on February 19, 2009. Coincidentally the same day Rick Santelli had his spontaneous outburst about a tea party - in Chicago - five months later... (who would have ever guessed Santelli is a time-traveler?). Odom also organized the Conservative Leadership Conference in 2007 where he worked with leaders of groups like Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks. In the Summer of 2009 American Liberty Alliance, Americans for Limited Government and the Sam Adams Alliance (media director Eric Odom) ran the American Liberty Tour. Yet another cross-country bus tour (featuring Joe the Plumber) that promoted "candidate training, blogger breakfast meetings, activists training and large scale Liberty Rallies". This tour was held in conjunction with Glen Beck's 9/12 Project.

Eric Odom has been quite a busy bee throughout the Tea Party saga and is quite deserving of much more coverage than I give at this time but that dog isn't ready to hunt just yet.

Another Tea Party Patriot partner is American Solutions for Winning the Future (ASWF) headed by Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House. One of ASWF's primary contributors is Peabody Energy, the largest private-sector coal company in the world.

So, let's take a moment to look at the scorecard so far. Tea Party Patriots = FreedomWorks (Citizens for a Sound Economy and Empower America) + American Liberty Alliance (TaxDayTeaParty, FreedomWorks, National Tea Party Coalition, Sam Adams Alliance, Americans for Limited Government and DontGo) + American Solutions for Winning the Future.

Taking into consideration what these groups are, who they are connected to and their body of work (which includes everything from arming, training and financing the Taliban to fight Russian invaders in Afghanistan to the economic meltdown of 2008), to imply any notion of the Tea Party Patriots remotely resembling a true grassroots organization is completely laughable to anyone save the monumentally stupid and gullible.

Tea Party Convention Organizer Misses Deadline To Pay On Loan He Used To Pay Palin

Phillips now concedes he didn’t fully grasp the complexities of pulling off the convention and is merely hoping to break even, despite recently selling out the last remaining tickets. In addition to 600 tickets at the $550 level, which will admit attendees to the convention and Palin's speech, Tea Party Nation offered an additional 500 tickets to Palin’s keynote for $350 each. POLITICO has learned that Phillips obtained a $50,000 loan to pay a deposit towards the $100,000 fee Washington Speakers Bureau charged to secure Palin as the keynote speaker at the convention. Much of the loan came from Bill Hemrick, a baseball card tycoon whose loan contract didn’t call for interest but did set a deadline last week for repayment, which Phillips missed. (more here)

SMACKDOWN: But, but... I thought she WASN'T getting paid?? I mean, that's what her PR people said - that's what tea party organizers said, isn't it? Pffftt... No, that's what every blithering idiot teabagger bought hook, line and donation check. First they denied paying her and she denied taking payment. Once they couldn't deny that, they immediately started the tea party two-step and argued about how much she was getting. Last I read, Palin said she would let organizers donate her fee (that wasn't supposed to exist in the first place) to charity.

I realize there are many sincere, concerned citizens out there thinking the tea party exists to champion your interests. The closer you look at this organization the more you will discover about the the maleficents making secret backroom deals with characters even more unscrupulous and disingenuous than they are. You will discover that self-interested "organizers" and activists have known of and intentionally withheld information you deserved to know, all in your best interests of course, to "do what's best for the people". I'm not making this stuff up. Just google "tea party fraud".

I started the tea party news section of this site in an attempt to chart and document this fraud. I started it when I found there were people involved with this sham who did not speak out against it while it served their interests. Only after this fraud made the headlines did they speak out and even now they try to justify and deny their complicity. These so-called advocates of transparancy hid the truth from you. They dennounce our government for it's backroom deals and secret alliances yet have done the extact same thing and try to justify this by claiming the end justifies the means.

Your tea party was hijacked. Your movement co-oped by special interest groups, political organizations and just plain greedy, self-serving individuals. The people who claim to act in your interest, without letting you know just how they were doing that, are not interested in anything more than profiting from your support. This is no whackjob conspiracy theory, it is fact and I challenge anyone to prove otherwise.

MORE BREAKING TEA PARTY FRAUD NEWS!

TEA PARTY NATION'S JUDSON PHILLIPS:
“I WANT TO MAKE A MILLION FROM THIS MOVEMENT"
(read story here)

Just as I predicted, the rats are lining up to abandon this sinking ship and save their own hides. For nearly a year these liars have denied any association between the tea party and any outside corporate money or GOP backed PACs, PR firms and consultants. They have tried to discredit those of us who have known and spoken out against this sham and have tried to dismiss us through ridicule and inuendo. Now, only AFTER the cat is out of the bag, do they now come forward and only in an attempt to cleanse themselves of the guilt they reek of. These hypocrites have kept silent all this time because they have enjoyed the benefits of riding the tea party wave for their own personal gain while this fraud was being perpetrated upon unsuspecting tea party donors.

I say it's time to drop this corrupt organization and the maleficents that have taken advantage of the people who truly constitute the tea party movement. I hope criminal charges are brought on each and every one of these thieves as what they have done is nothing short of theft by deception. We need to honestly ask ourselves what do we really need the tea party for? What is supposed to be it's purpose? Certainly nothing we cannot do for ourselves and most certainly without having to write donation checks to degenerate profit or publicity-seeking, self-serving tea party organizers.

It is a curious thing that nary a tea party website is reporting this news. Wonder why that is? If they are legitimately there to "serve the people", why won't they do just that and let the people know who is ripping them off? Until this is done, EVERY tea party website is suspect and complicit in this fraud and should be considered in the same vein as the tea party organizers who have been exposed as liars and thieves.

Teabagger Is As Teabagger Does

You know you are a teabagger if:

You are at a rally having your little hissy fit over all the rights Barack Obama has taken from you but cannot name a single right that has actually been taken from you by Barack Obama.

You think Congressman Joe Wilson is a hero because he yelled "You lie!" when Barack Obama said there were no provisions in proposed healthcare legislation that provided free healthcare to illegal immigrants, even though Congressman Wilson himself voted for the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which provided taxpayer-funded reimbursements to hospitals that treated illegal immigrants who didn't have insurance.

Your only sources of information are tea party websites and Fox News.

You swoon with admiration as Sarah Palin proclaims President Obama "Barack the Wealth Spreader", while you remain blissfullly ignorant to the fact she brags about the number of annual checks she doled out as governor of Alaska to nearly every resident, representing their share of the revenues from the state's oil riches. She boosted those checks by raising taxes on oil.

You claim Barack Obama's czars are unconstitutional and are turning the country towards Socialism yet had no problem with the 30+ czars President Bush employed during his administration.

You ridicule supporters of Barack Obama as "brainwashed" and "Kool-Aid drinking Obama worshippers" yet turn all glassy-eyed and weak-kneed while you break down in tears of rapture at the mere mention of Sarah Palin's name.

You stomp your feet and shake your fist at all the taxes Barack Obama has imposed on you but cannot name a single tax that Barack Obama has actually imposed on you.

You are unaware of the fact that VA Healthcare, Medicare and Medicaid are socialized healthcare programs while you are demanding an end to socialized healthcare programs.

You whine about the bad people calling you bad names while wearing a "Chairman ObaMAO" t-shirt and holding a sign that reads "Barack Obama is a Fascist" on one side, on the other is a picture of Barack Obama with a Hitler moustache or Joker paint on his face.

You applaud the speaker at your rally after he declares only true Americans can claim a right to be in this country and that all non-true Americans should be sent back where they came from "with a bullet in their head".

You idolize Marsha Blackburn as the new savior of the constitution yet ignore the fact her voting record clearly shows she has consistantly voted in favor of federal legislation (i.e. Patriot Act) that guts the constitution.

You cannot understand why or how your hypocritical, ignorant and uninformed criticisms of Barack Obama expose you as a racist.

Tea Party Nation, Inc. & Founder 'Outed' As Fraud By Whistle-Blowing Insider!
(read story here)

Smell that? That's the aroma of vindication in the air. For nearly a year I have been telling anyone who would listen that the tea party was sold out by organizers to big-money corporate interests, GOP backed PACs, PR firms and consultants before the first rally was held and the first tea party bus left for a cross-country tour. Organizers like Phillips turned a true grassroots movement into pure astroturf designed only to help the GOP in this November's coming elections. Already the rats are abandoning this sinking ship.

Amercian Liberty Alliance has pulled out of this February's tea party convention and local tea party groups have already begun distancing themselves from Phillips and TPN Inc. They are not going to get off that easy. Tami Kilmarx was the first rat to jump ship. She says, "Everything he [Kevin Smith] reports about his experience is something we experienced. Every tea party group in the counties where there are groups (20 and growing) have experienced the effects of this group and this man. There are things afoot that you no nothing about until you have lived the last year as we have. We could tell you plenty.". In other words, Kilmarx and other groups and organizers have known about TPN, Inc. & Phillips' fraud for quite some time but felt it unecessary to speak out against it. I'm wondering why she has waited until only AFTER the expose to speak out against TPN, Inc. & Phillips.

The question Kilmarx and other organizers have to answer is; what do they know and when did they know it? These people are no different than Phillips if not worse. They were more than happy to enjoy the benefits of riding his coattails as long as they were getting their fair share of the pie but the minute this corruption is exposed, these hypocrites begin their litany of how 'they' were not involved and how 'they' have disapproved of Phillips' actions. Kilmarx of the TN tea party coop (aka TN Town Hall) should be one of the very last in this exodus since that group exists only as a platform for wanna-be political players looking to ride the tea party wave into elected office come November.

I am looking forward to all the hypocrites who will start coming out of the woodwork to denounce Phillips and his Tea Party Nation, Inc. organization, all claiming to be squeeky clean and protesting the loudest about how 'they' and their organizations are on the up-and-up. You can't wallow around with that pig and not come out smelling like a pig yourself. Over the next few days and weeks I will be putting the finishing touches on my [researched] study on the corporate and GOP infestation of the tea party and the little demigods using smaller tea party groups for their own personal interests.

Supporters of these groups should be outraged. Your movement was co-opted, your donations misused. The very people you have been looking to for leadership are the very people who sold you out, your movement out and any hope you had about that movement making real changes in our government was sold out for personal profit as well.

This is only the beginning and I have much, MUCH more information on the tea party fraud to post here once a few more sources have been re-checked and verified. Like I have said for months, I do not make this stuff up. The truth is out there for anyone willing to take the time to look for it. Baggers - your little teapot is about to boil over, get ready for it.

TN Attorney General Rides Fence On State Sovereignty
January 4, 2010

Attorney generals of 13 states have communicated to the U.S. Congress and Senate they will consider legal action to prevent the enforcement of an unconstitutional healthcare mandate (read letter here). Tennessee state Attorney General Robert Cooper, Jr. has decided it is in the best interest of the people of Tennessee to "sit out" this stand on state sovereignty.

The issue at hand is the legality of provisions in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590) that gives preferential treatment to some states above others in the financial burden the states will have to bear if the bill is enacted into law and federal mandates to purchase health insurance. In a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, attorney generals of 13 states stated they are "contemplating a legal challenge" to these provisions.

Why will our state attorney general not at least support this initiative? It's not like they are taking any kind of immediate action. They are simply telling Washington they will consider legal action if those provisions are included in any federal healthcare legislation. This strikes right at the heart of 10th amendment & state sovereignty issues. Such issues, it seems, to AG Cooper are only important after the fact, deserving of only wait-and-see consideration.

I urge everyone to call Attorney General Cooper and let him know the 10th Amendment deserves more than him sitting on the sidelines humming "que sera sera" while it is gutted by the federal government. His number is (615) 741-3491.

Abolish the Federal Reserve
Tuesday December 22, 2009

The Federal Reserve, a privately-owned central bank, operates independent of the U.S. federal government and holds a monopoly over the flow of our nation’s money and credit but has never been completely transparent and accountable to Congress since its creation in 1913.

Over its nearly 100 year history, the Federal Reserve has presided over the near-complete destruction of the United States dollar while Congress has kept its hands off and its eyes closed. Since 1913, the dollar has lost over 95% of its purchasing power, aided and abetted by the Federal Reserve’s loose monetary policy.

During the current economic crisis, Congress, the Treasury, and the Fed have put us on the hook for over $12 trillion in bailouts and loans. This is in addition to our almost $12 trillion national debt. When testifying before Congress, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke has refused to disclose which institutions have received trillions of dollars in these bailouts and loans or to give our representatives details about what deals are being made with foreign banks.

It is time the taxpayers of this country demand an independent audit of the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve should be abolished and lawful control of this country's monetary policies be turned back over to the people and their elected officials.

Lawmakers are finally realzing the Federal Reserve is the single, biggest threat to our economic stability and have introduced legislation to end the Federal Reserve. Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) and 316 cosponsors in the U.S. Congress have introduced HR 1207 (Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009), calling for an immediate audit of the Federal Reserve. It's companion bill S 604 (Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009) has 31 cosponsors in the U.S. Senate. Congressman Ron Paul has also introduced HR 833 (Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act). This bill seeks to repeal the Federal Reserve Act and abolish the Federal Reserve.

Click here to see if your representatives have signed on to these bills. If they have not, contact them and encourage them to do so. If your representatives have signed on, contact them and let them know you support their efforts. Tennessee Senators Alexander and Corker have not signed on to S 604. Please contact them and tell them to support this legislation to end the Federal Reserve.

The Smackdown On Healthcare Reform

The best way to solve a complex problem is to break it down into as many smaller, more manageable components as you can. I think the best approach to the healthcare problem is to apply this problem-solving method to it then deal with what's left, instead of stumbling around like the keystone kops, looking for the single, quick-fix silver bullet and hoping we get it right.

Twelve actions we can take to beat the healthcare monster into submission and have a far less formidable problem remain to deal with:

1) Right off, we should stop everything and address the half-trillion dollars a year lost to fraud, waste and abuse in the Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security programs. Bureaucrats have openly acknowledged this pilfering of taxpayers dollars for nearly two years, yet NO ONE in Washington D.C. has seriously pushed for immediate action on this matter. Why? End this plundering NOW and the healthcare problem is that much closer to being solved. Not a single line of legislation has to be written to achieve this. Simply enforce the law and prosecute the criminals responsible for this malfeasance.

2) The states write health insurance regulations, so they should eliminate the interstate restrictions on the sale of health insurance to encourage competition, thus, lowering cost. No federal legislation required.

3) Tax incentives for health savings accounts. Zero legislation and minimal amendments to existing tax code required.

4) Buffet-style health insurance plans. This is a no-brainer. No federal legislation required.

5) Lifestyle premium rates. If you want to smoke you pay more. If you choose to live a lethargic lifestyle and live on Twinkees and Big Macs, you pay more. We do this with car insurance. If you have a bad driving record, you pay more for the same insurance safer drivers pay less for. If you choose to live an unhealthy lifetyle, you should pay more for the same insurance than those who choose to live healthier lifestyles.

6) Discount preventive and maintenance health programs. $100 dollars on prevention vs. thousands of dollars of cure. Again, a no-brainer and not a single line of federal legislation has to be written.

7) No insurance for any/all elective procedures and treatments. Viagra, hair transplants, elective cosmetic surgeries, breast implants, tummy tucks, etc... All elective treatments and procedures should be paid 100% out-of-pocket. Why should anyone have to foot the bill for someone else's vanity? If insurance for these things is necessary, those who want it should pay through their reconstructed noses. This approprately addresses the abortion issue as it pertains to the healthcare debate as well. No federal legislation needed.

8) Give up this pre-existing condition nonsense. If you want to save some money by not buying health insurance, then get dealthy ill because you didn't want to pay for a simple check-up - tough. Can you wreck your car then have it insured? Can you burn your house down then get it insured? What makes healthcare so different? If we cannot get past this, pre-existing condition policy premiums should be sky-high.

9) End employer-based health insurance plans. This is just a WWII wage-control dodge that has outlived it's usefulness. Where is the logic in having $5 taken from you to provide you with $3 of coverage? Maintenance costs are either made up by increasing withholdings or is passed on to consumer.

10) I am not a fan of censorship but we should prohibit the commercial advertising of prescription drugs. None of us are qualifed to make a determination based on a commercial, what drugs are best for us. This will cut down the cost of these drugs as marketing dollars will not have to be spent advertising them and have that cost passed on to consumers.

11) Allow the sale of foreign pharmaceuticals in this country. If every healthcare system in the world is so much better than ours and they all live so much longer than we do, what's wrong with their medications? Competition equals lower prescription drug costs.

12) Tort reform. Limit settlement amounts and institute a player/pay system. If you file suit and loose, you pay all the legal expenses and fees of all involved in the litigation. That will put an immediate end to the litigation lottery mentality that motivates frivolous lawsuits.

Once the decision to act on these points is made, the actual legislation (and cost) will be minimal, the reform will be immediate and any remaining problems will be substantially easier to deal with than what we are trying to deal with now.

I have sent copies of this to Congressman Lincoln Davis and Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker. Since many of these points fall within the realm of state responsibility, I have also sent this to Governor Bredeson, State Senator Eric Stewart and House Representative Bill Harmon. If any and/or all these points make sense to you, I encourage you to forward them to your state and federal representatives as well.
